The Erapol 2K Blocked Series are two component TDI/PTMEG blocked polyurethane resin systems used mainly for the manufacture of abrasive sanding/polishing disks.

Available in two grades 2KE90A and 2KE55D, both need to be cured with a curative to produce the relevant hardness. They are simple to process, in 5 easy steps:

HEAT Material to 80 - 90deg C

DEGASS 1 - 5 mmHg of vacuum until excessive foaming stops

ADD CURATIVE Mix thoroughly being careful not to introduce air into the mixture

POUR Product into pre-heated & pre-coated {with release agent} mould

CURE Product at 130-C for 16 hours

The sanding/polishing disks are manufactured from polypropylene fibers, coated in an abrasive medium and bonded together with Erapol 2K Blocked Series; 2KE90A or 2KE55D. They are manufactured in sheets, and are processed through a tunnel oven to cure the polyurethane and ensure the fibres are bonded together.

Once the sheets are cured the appropriate sized sanding/polishing disks are stamped out, ready to be used.
